Lynn Beshear
Executive Director, Envision 2020

Beginning in December of 1999 Lynn served on the initiating committee for a visioning process to develop a regional comprehensive long-range plan, which became Envision 2020 and for which she has served as its only executive director. 

Born in Durham, North Carolina, she is a graduate RN of Wake Forest Baptist Health and began her career in the Neonatal Intensive Care Nursery at Duke University Medical Center.

She was in Class III of both Leadership Alabama and Leadership Montgomery and served as the first executive director of Leadership Montgomery from 1990-92; she was director of admissions at Montgomery Academy from 1992-98.

In 1999 she co-founded The Montgomery Campaign to Prevent Teen Pregnancy and The Alabama Campaign to Prevent Teen Pregnancy.

Other volunteer service is extensive and includes the boards of: Montgomery Academy; Montgomery Ballet; Montgomery Junior League; Medical Spouses Alliance; First United Methodist Church; River Region United Way; Success by Six; American Heart Association; HandsOn River Region Board; Kid One Transport; Metro Montgomery YMCA; Helping Montgomery Families Initiative; WSFA-TV Editorial Board; E.A.T. South; AUM School of Liberal Arts Advisory Board; Montgomery Public Library Foundation Board and chair of the long-range planning process for First United Methodist Church.  

Lynn and her husband Dr. James Robert (Bob) Beshear, who is a pediatrician, have 3 children and 3 grandchildren.
